Richard L. Shenk, 71, passed away on Oct. 20, 2011 in Snowmass, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sol A. Shenk. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Shenk; sons David (Alex) Shenk, Jon (Bonni) Shenk and Joshua Wolf Shenk; stepson Jason Esterkamp; mother Florence Shenk; brothers William (Pat) Shenk and Charles (Joyce) Shenk; grandchildren Lucy, Henry, Abe, Anabel, Avery and Oliver; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was a photographer, humanitarian, real estate developer and rock ‘n’ roller.

A funeral service will take place Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m. at Epstein Memorial Chapel in Columbus, Ohio, with Rabbi Harold Berman and Rabbi Irvin Wise officiating. Burial will follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Talbert House, Challenge Aspen or the Jewish Federation.

Shiva will be observed at the home of Charles and Joyce Shenk on Sunday evening. Shiva will continue in Cincinnati at the home of David and Stacey Fisher on Monday from 6:30-9 p.m.
