A group of Colorado realtors is hosting two virtual meetings this month for homeowners to learn more about the impacts of the widespread drought and heightened wildfire risk this summer.

Altitude Realtors launched the free “Resilient Ground” webinar series this spring as the state faces its worst snowpack on record and severe drought conditions. The series will include a talk on energy and insurance on Tuesday, May 26, at 10 a.m. and a discussion on emergency preparedness on Thursday, May 28, at noon, according to the group’s website.

The energy and insurance talk will feature Carly Davidson, a public relations specialist from the Yampa Valley Electric Association, and Blair McGary, the Xcel Energy community relations representative for the Colorado High Country.

The emergency preparedness discussion will cover how to plan for wildfire, including evacuation tips, go-bag essentials and safely manage your animals, according to Altitude Realtors. The talk will feature emergency managers from Summit, Park and Routt counties.

In an earlier webinar hosted by the realty group, Colorado water managers stressed the importance of water conservation while also touching on what homeowners can do if their well runs dry, how water rights work and more.
