Hello, friends, and welcome to summer! After a quick off-season hiatus, I’m back and ready to cover all things fashion in the warmer months, which —  if you are a regular reader of this column — you may have gathered is not my favorite sartorial season. Fall and winter are for those who love to layer, believe in cashmere and wool and swear by a shearling accent (read: me). Summer is for those who look good in barely-there dresses, can go braless and who remember to get regular pedicures. This is not where I thrive. Know thyself.

While all good locals love the quietness of off-season, there is something  undeniably magical about that moment when the slow season turns into summer. The mountain is green; there is a palpable energy in the air as local businesses reopen their doors; and the buzz of impending fun looms.

Summer is off to a chic start with several stores whose doors have been closed for the breadth of theoff-season coming back to life. TWP and TOTEME are open again, ready to outfit you with new, easy-breezy summer looks. Chanel now has hotter-than-hot artistic director Matthieu Blazy’s Metier d’Arts collection on display (cue the frenzy). Maybe your algorithm is different than mine, but if not, you have seen approximately one-million videos of people unboxing pieces from this collection. Experience it for yourself by stopping by the new boutique to see the gorgeous pieces that were first presented in a fashion show staged in a New York subway (yes, you read that correctly). And then — of course — video yourself opening what you bought, preferably awkwardly and with one hand. If you don’t, I’m not sure it counts.

In early June, nostalgic jewelry brand Tiffany threw a garden party, bringing together top clients and tastemakers for an intimate cocktail to showcase the iconic company’s history of creativity and craftsmanship, focusing on one of the brand’s signatures, the Tiffany Bird on the Rock collection. Guests gathered at a private residence and looked at beautiful and shiny treasures. Rumor has it that Tiffany is eyeing a permanent location in town.

Louis Vuitton just premiered an incredibly impressive, appointment-only experience at Dunbar Ranch. Dubbed “Savoir Rêver Aspen, a Journey Through the House’s Most Exclusive Métiers and Artisanal Savoir-Faire,” the installation takes over two homes and some outdoor space at the epic ranch, creating an immersive Louis Vuitton universe that includes an LV cafe. The event showcases the house’s most spectacular craftsmanship, from one-of-a-kind hand-painted trunks and bespoke furniture to exotic bags and out-of-this-world fine jewelry. There is even a Louis Vuitton pool table, record player and a $1 million dollar bag, created by the brand’s men’s creative director Pharrell Williams. Adding that one to my wishlist!

And the fashion action just keeps on going: Next week on Tuesday, June 16, Alice Walk — which opened this past spring — is throwing a long-awaited opening event for its jewel-box boutique. The event celebrates the brand’s East Coast (Nantucket) roots via oysters, Champagne, mini lobster rolls and live music. Come explore the new preppy chic brand and experience a touch of East Coast summer in the mountains.
