Pitkin County Senior Services to host seasonal farmers market

Pitkin County Senior Services will host a farmers market at 11:45 a.m. every Friday beginning June 5 at the Pitkin County Senior Center.
Lisa Guida, the community enrichment coordinator for Pitkin County Senior Services, said in a press release that the farmers market aims to provide fresh and nutritious food to local senior citizens while also keeping them engaged in the community.
“It’s about helping people stay healthy, connected, and able to remain in their homes and community,” Guida said in the release.
The farmer’s market is in collaboration with local farms and businesses, including Two Roots Farm, located at the Emma Open Space. According to the release, Two Roots Farm focuses on regenerative agriculture and organic practices.
