Today marks the end of the season for this year’s Aspen Saturday Market. Some vendors have driven hundreds of miles each weekend to set up their booths and sell their products here in Aspen. Harper Kaufman and Christian La Bar started their own farm, Two Roots Farm, this year and shared some of their behind-the-scenes preparations and struggles each week for the farmers market. Farmers have to plan weeks or even months in advance in order to prepare the proper produce for each week at the market. The beautiful arrangement of colorful produce on the market booths are literally the product of hours of manual labor and well-calculated preparations. Pitkin County presses ahead on Phillips Mobile Home Park redevelopment
The Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners voted Wednesday to override the Planning and Zoning Commission’s finding of non-conformance for the Phillips Mobile Home Park redevelopment, citing rapidly deteriorating and dangerous infrastructure.
