Basalt High baseball rallies to win opener
The Basalt High School baseball team kicked off the new season with a dramatic 15-14 comeback victory at Eagle Valley this week.
After giving up eight runs in the first and second innings, the Basalt boys battle back with 17 hits to win in the bottom of the seventh and final inning.
With the score tied at 14 in the seventh inning, Anders Brucker came to the plate and singled, bringing home Miles Levy with the winning run.
Logan Conley got the win in relief for Basalt (1-0). Conley pitched four innings, allowing four runs.
Other highlights for Basalt included a two-run single for Raul Torres and an RBI-single by Clayton Montgomery.
Dylan Gressett had an RBI-double to complete a three-run third inning.
Basalt is scheduled to host Coal Ridge on Saturday in a doubleheader at the Basalt High School baseball field, starting at 11 a.m.
