The annual Slaughterfest race returned Sunday, with rafters (and earlier in the day, kayakers) taking to the Roaring Fork River just outside of Aspen to try their hand at Slaughterhouse Falls, a class IV rapid adjacent to the Rio Grande Trail. The race concluded near Woody Creek. It occurs each summer near peak runoff.
