Obituary: Jon Burnett

May 19, 1938 – August 8, 2026

Jon E. Burnett, 88, of Mesquite, Nevada, passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2026. He was a cherished father and friend, and his presence will be deeply missed. Jon was born in Morristown, New Jersey, and loved the arts, everything from action films to Broadway musicals. A longtime resident of the Roaring Fork Valley, Jon was a voracious reader, an avid patron of the library, and enjoyed traveling and golfing in his free time.

Jon is survived by his daughter, Heidi Johnson of Santa Fe, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jon’s memory to the Garfield County Public Library Foundation.
