A skier was airlifted on Wednesday from Aspen Highlands to the Aspen Valley Hospital after crashing in Highland Bowl.
Aspen Skiing Company confirmed that the guest fell while skiing the bowl shortly before 1 p.m. An Aspen Highlands paramedic patroller was on-site and responded immediately, calling a helicopter, at which point the guest was transported to the hospital, according to SkiCo. The Highland Bowl was closed for the rest of the day.
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s office told The Aspen Times to await a call from the coroner’s office regarding the incident.
