Aspen Mayor Rachael Richards and Aspen City Council are inviting community members to a public meet and greet with Pete Strecker, the internal finalist for Aspen’s city manager position.
The event will take place 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, at The Vault in the Wheeler Opera House.
“This is an important moment for Aspen, and we want our community to be engaged in the process,” said Richards in a press release. “The city manager plays a vital role in ensuring our city government runs efficiently and reflects the values of our residents.”
The gathering is aiming to provide residents, business owners, nonprofit partners, and other stakeholders with the opportunity to meet him, ask questions, and share feedback with City Council to reflect the community’s needs and priorities before their final hiring decision is made.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments and appetizers will be provided.
Strecker became interim city manager this March following the resignation of Sara Ott. With more than two decades of experience in state and local government, he also has a strong background in financial leadership and economic forecasting, the press release states.
