For the first time, international celebrity psychic medium Colby Rebel will be providing the Aspen community with a night of connection to loved ones and pets who have passed. She felt possessed to return to the valley and serve what she calls “Spirit.”
The Night with Spirits will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Aspen’s Gravity Haus.
According to Rebel, mediumship differs from intuition and psychic abilities in distinct ways; intuition is an innate fight or flight response that can be felt by everyone, psychic means having a sense of premonition or connecting to living souls, and being a medium means having clear and open communication with the souls of those not living. Rebel said her gift of mediumship began when she was a child after she connected with her deceased grandfather at 4 years old.
“For me, because I’ve had the gift since I was so little, I’ve always had this innate trust in Spirit,” Rebel said. “I don’t need tools. It’s almost like a telephone call, a puzzle and a telephone call put together. I use all of my clairs together —- I can see, hear, feel, know, taste, and smell.”
As she progressed in life, Rebel said her gift became so strong that it was “undeniable.” After working both as a fan favorite Hammerin’ Heather Steele on Women of Wrestling and a tax preparer for 15 years, ignoring her abilities made her feel like she was ignoring her purpose. As more paranormal circumstances happened, including a premonition that her neighbor would die that was followed by his actual death, Rebel made the decision to pivot her focus to mediumship full-time.

Now, after just completing a tour through Australia and New Zealand, Rebel will grace the valley with her gift. Rebel said she fell in love with Aspen and the local community after visiting her husband’s father, famous ski legend and local Max Marolt, and credits the genuineness and authenticity of the community along with the higher vibrations naturally found in mountain towns as why she feels called to come back, and host a night of clarity and connection.
Rebel takes a no-tools approach to her mediumship, meaning she doesn’t use tarot cards, palm reading, objects belonging to those who have passed (known as psychometry), or anything else during her reading. Instead, she uses clairs, or heightened senses, to tap into the other world and learn about individuals with personalized messages for those still on Earth.
Rebel said she’s hoping this event provides people with a deeper understanding of bridging the gaps between worlds with messages from those who are missed. More importantly, Rebel hopes to strengthen people’s belief that their loved ones do live on; even if someone doesn’t receive a direct message, they can witness the validation and guidance that fellow community members receive.

“They are with you, they are around you, and they are trying to connect and communicate with you,” Rebel said. “I feel very grateful to get to know that person. Think of what an honor that is: that’s somebody’s mother or father or sister or child.”
For those unfamiliar with psychic medium connections, Rebel provides assurance that the event won’t be “super heavy.” She said there might be tears, but there will also be laughter, curiosity, and fun that has the power to enhance the local environment for everyone. Everyone is welcome, from those looking for closure and advice to those curious about the magic that might lie on the other side.
