Aspen Valley Health is hosting its annual health fair from 8-11:30 a.m. June 5 and 6 at the AVH Medical Center in Aspen, and June 7 at the Eagle County Community Center in El Jebel.
The fair is providing a variety of lab tests at steep discounts. The tests available include the popular HealthScreen test, which evaluates 32 metabolic functions, as well as the Complete Blood Count, Hemoglobin A1C, hsCardio CRP, PSA, T3, T4 and Vitamin D tests. Test prices range between $32-$79.
“We’ve added more tests over the years so that participants can really cover a lot of bases without adding a lot of cost,” AVH Chief Growth and Marketing Officer Jennifer Slaughter told The Aspen Times. “Through the health fair, we make it easier to ‘know your numbers’ and share this information with your primary care physician.”
In past years, the event has seen significant success, with over 1,000 participants coming every spring from as far as Grand Junction, according to Slaughter.
“We are the only health system in the Roaring Fork Valley still hosting these fairs,” Slaughter said. “People set their clocks to it and we are happy to provide this valuable service to our community.”
On June 5 and 6, the health fair will also showcase information stations designed for community members to meet providers and learn more about AVH’s services and community partners. The stations will feature representatives from AVH’s Primary Care, Surgical Specialists, Whitcomb Terrace, Aspen Ambulance, Pitkin County Community Health, Chris Klug Foundation and WE-cycle.
“Aspen Valley Health is committed to making our community the healthiest in the nation, and events like the health fair open access and get us closer to realizing this vision,” Slaughter said.
Walk-ins are not allowed — those planning to attend should book their appointment prior to their visit online or by phone. Payment will be collected at the time of the appointment. Participants can pay with cash, check, credit card, debit card or HSA card.
