What happens when you blend the psychedelic improvisation of Grateful Dead music with Pink Floyd’s cosmic soundscape? Dead Floyd, one of Colorado’s top tribute bands. This Fort Collins powerhouse will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Belly Up Aspen. The band delivers unpredictable, improvisational sets, honoring both legendary bands with sophisticated jazz, funk, and rock musicianship. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The Rubey Rescue Run, Oct. 11

Dogs can join their humans at the inaugural Rubey Rescue Run to raise money for Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter.

Get ready — the Rubey Rescue Run is almost here! This unique, dog-friendly mountain challenge supports Aspen Animal Shelter. The demanding 5K uphill race tackles 1,700 vertical feet, beginning at the base near Buttermilk Mountain Lodge (formerly Bumps) and finishing at the iconic Cliff House. For those without a canine companion, adoptable shelter dogs may be available to run alongside participants — and perhaps find their forever home. Runners can look forward to prizes awarded at the summit and panoramic views of the Maroon Bells. Admission is $65 for adults and $35 for ages 16 and under. 30th annual ski and snowboard film screening at the Wheeler, Oct. 15

The 2025 ski and snowboard film, “Teton Gravity Research Pressure Drop,” will screen at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Wheeler Opera House. The milestone film celebrates Teton Gravity Research’s 30th anniversary of producing annual ski and snowboard films. The documentary showcases the world’s best skiers and snowboarders navigating extreme terrain, capturing those heart-stopping moments of pure adrenaline before gravity takes full control. Featured athletes include Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Ian McIntosh, Nick McNutt, and Kai Jones. The Wheeler Opera House is located at 320 E. Shake, sip, and salsa at The Gant, Oct. 15
