Get ready to party like it’s 1989. “An Evening with the Spazmatics” will begin at 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, at Belly Up Aspen, located at 450 S. Galena St. The Spazmatics, known as the ultimate ’80s cover band, will transform the Belly Up Aspen into a time machine. This California band will deliver authentic ’80s hits that will have everyone dancing. Tickets start at $45.60 and are limited to two-tickets per purchaser. Three shows of ‘What the Constitution Means to Me,’ Aug. 27-28

Theatre Aspen will present “What the Constitution Means to Me,” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Hurst Theatre. Heralded as a boundary-breaking production, the story follows a teenager who uses her debate competition wins to fund her college experience, and then, later in her 40s, she reflects back at the perceptions that led her to that accomplishment. Premium seats will include access to a post-show reception with the cast. Michael Rader directs, and the actors include Cassie Beck, MJ Sieber, and Natalie Stephens. Big-name bands and top-tier talent descend upon the Roaring Fork Valley this weekend for the 2025 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience, with preview events on Aug. 28 and the official event kicking off the festival Friday, Aug. 29, through Sunday, Aug. 31. Rock icon Lenny Kravitz, country music sensation Luke Combs, America’s chart-topping new-school rock band Imagine Dragons, rising sensation Grace Bowers and the Hodgepodge, and more. The festival takes place at Snowmass Town Park, with this huge event attracting crowds of up to 10,000 people daily. There are General Admission, Deck, and VIP passes available. Deeply-rooted new acoustic music kicks off The Barn series second season, Sept. 4

The Barn Music Series will begin its second season with “Music du Jour” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Old Thompson Bar at 333 River Valley Ranch Road in Carbondale. The Grammy-nominated Matt Flinner Trio will blend bluegrass, jazz, and classical. These multi-instrumentalist and multi-genre virtuosos will share original compositions as a nod to the past and the future. Formed in 2006, the group consists of Matt Flinner on mandolin, Ross Martin on guitar, and Eric Thorin on bass. Tickets are $40 for adults, and youth 17 and under are free. Southern California frontman Brooks Nielson, lead singer of The Growlers and now acclaimed solo artist, will perform at 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, at Belly Up Aspen.
