Stephenson: Dazed and confused about federal policy

So, thanks to budget cuts at the U.S. Forest Service, we citizens of Pitkin County will now be paying for the funding of two more enforcement positions supervised by the Sheriff’s Office to patrol federal lands. Salary range for these positions is between $58,000 to $102,000. Can someone please edify me as to how these federal cuts are saving us money?
