Samuelson: Don’t be an e-bike Karen

In response to Lorenzo Semple, “Lo-Fidelity: E-bikes on local trails? Not up in here!”:

I’m sure the Ute Indian spirits are ecstatic with you living in Aspen and pedaling your Amish bike to ride the “sacred” single track you refer to, knowing they gave their lives and land up for your privilege. Does that exude “Aspen”? Maybe your ignorance is an excuse, allowing for baloney articles like this to be written, thereby stirring the pot amongst the mountain bike community and getting more views — your end goal, I would assume.

For the anti-e-bike folks, when you’re driving well over the speed limit on Highway 82 to get to the trailhead, does breaking the law enter your mind or is it only when you see an e-bike on your cherished Amish trail? Ride your bike or e-bike, have fun, be respectful, and don’t be a Karen!
