Russell: For shame

Regarding your article about Colorado Parks and Wildlife killing a gray wolf who was “connected to” livestock attacks in Pitkin County:

I am appalled.

Why would The Aspen Times publish a photograph in connection with that article of a vivisected wolf lying in blood, surrounded by men appearing to take the animal apart? The graphic nature of the photograph, while revealing the abominable tactics of CPW, served no purpose other than to upset your readers with its sensationalism.

The Times owes an apology to me and to all the others who had no choice but to look at it if they happened to pick up the paper. Wolves want nothing but to live, as do all of us. Showing the violent end of this animal’s life disrespects that animal and treats him like an object. The paper should be ashamed.
