Rubey: Appreciating the heart of this community

Even with rain in the forecast, Aspen came out strong on Saturday, Oct. 11, for the Rubey Rescue Run on Buttermilk Mountain to support the Aspen Animal Shelter. The turnout, despite the weather, was a true testament to the heart of this community — and to the appreciation we all share for shelter director Seth Sachson and the incredible work he does for vulnerable animals.
Funds raised from the event will go toward the shelter’s spay and neuter program, as well as scholarships for veterinary technicians — both vital efforts that make a real difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them.
A huge thank-you to our participants, race day volunteers, and to this year’s generous sponsors: Frank’s Fresh Dog Food & Delivery, Jay Wright of Aspen Sotheby’s, VIBES Snacks, Roxy’s, Aspen Animal Hospital, Clark’s Market, and The Stevens Group. Your support and energy made the day possible.
We’re already looking forward to next year and to growing this event even further. Aspen’s love for its animals and community truly shines, even in rainy weather!
