Richards: Voting on Nov. 3

I’m voting for John Doyle and Ted Mahon for county commissioners — longtime locals committed to community needs and our environment.
John’s experience on multiple boards dedicated to water needs, housing issues, public safety and climate change will serve us well. Ted’s work to help renew Pitkin County’s Healthy Community Fund, which sustains our senior center, food banks, mental health, medical care and other community serving non-profits stands out to me — working for a “Yes on 1A” despite having his own campaign to run.
“Yes” on Amendment 87 and Prop NN: Our kids’ education has long been victims of TABOR, with decades of underfunding via “the negative” or “budget stabilization factor” depriving kids of the education needed for success.
“Yes” oon Prop 137: funding wildfire prevention, water infrastructure and land conservation as state and federal resources have disappeared.
Please “yes” vote for the Healthy Community Fund 1A and the Aspen Water Treatment Facilities bond, the human and physical infrastructure our community needs to thrive.
Vote “no” on Amendments 81-86 and propositions 132-136 — all promoted by special interests to micromanage judges, doctors, schools and families, protect fossil fuel emissions, cast doubts over election security and the management of Colorado wildlife.
Dwayne Romero has a lifetime committed to public service. He’s our best hope to stop new wars and reverse Trump and Hurd’s Big Beautiful Bill’s damage to our healthcare, public lands and federal deficit.
Elizabeth Velasco deserves your vote; she has represented our region well, with a focus on housing, wildfire prevention and public safety.
Phil Weiser will be a great governor — brave and smart enough for the challenges ahead. Jena Griswald is the fighter we need for attorney general, and your vote for John Hickenlooper is key to ending federal corruption and taking back the Senate.
