I’m profoundly grateful to the dedicated staff and elected officials of Pitkin County for bestowing the Good Samaritan Award upon my 90-year-old mom.

Please join me in celebrating as “Mama Sandy” shares a concise, inspiring presentation on the triumphant completion of three essential water wells at public schools in Kenya. She will be speaking on Tuesday, Sept. 16, both at the Aspen library at 2 p.m. and at the Basalt library at 5 p.m.

For just $50, you can gift a Kenyan family a life-changing clean water filter — capable of purifying a million gallons over 20 years. And for $10,000 — the cost of a lavish Aspen lunch at Cloud 9 for some — you can dedicate an entire water well at Kipkelion Special Needs School, Moi Minaret Boys School, or Chebirbelek Secondary School (home to 1,156 eager students) in memory of your family or a loved one.

If you ever visit Africa, a safari’s true pinnacle awaits: witnessing the profound gratitude of Kenyans during an unforgettable well dedication ceremony at your chosen school. Your generosity will transform lives — and yours — forever.
