Kreutzer: More than just a library

I would like to recognize the Pitkin County Library for all that it brings to our community. It truly is my favorite place in Aspen and has enriched my summer and my life in so many ways. 

I feel so fortunate to have a library that is so much more than a place to borrow books. It has become a wonderful gathering place — a place where all can learn, try something new, meet others and simply have fun. 

I have personally enjoyed so many of the programs offered by the library: Book Clubs, Ask a Librarian, Lunch and Learn, sewing classes, painting with Bob Ross, the incredible Holocaust museum and all the lectures and events that occurred with it, the summer reading program and so much more. Every time I participate in one of these programs, I am reminded of how much effort and creativity go into making the library such an important part of our community.

At a time when it can sometimes feel that our town is changing, having a place where we can come together, learn with each other and share experience is so incredibly important and valuable to me. 

But the biggest asset is the incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind employees at the library. Whenever I ask for a questions and need assistance, they are so patient, welcoming and genuinely eager to help. The warmth and dedications make the library such a special place where everyone belongs. 

Thank you, Pitkin County Library, for all you do— not only for me but for our whole community. I have learned so much, made new friends and the library enriches my life in so many ways.
