Obituary: Shane Murray

Shane was the beloved son Born on December 21 1988 to Sigrid and David Murray. Shane passed away unexpectedly May 1, 2025 at the age of 36.
Shane lived his whole life in the Roaring Fork Valley. He went to Elementary school in Basalt and High School in Carbondale. Shane was a Boy Scout and achieved the high rank of Eagle. Shane went to Mesa State Collage and earned a degree in Culinary Arts.
Shane at the age of 3, developed type 1 diabetes. Shane learned to take care of himself. This did not stop him from being a normal kid. He skied, snowboarded, rafted on many rivers in Colorado and Utah. Shane did a fourteen day trip down the Grand Canyon. He became a scuba diver, diving in Hawaii, Mexico, and South Africa.
Most of all, Shane was know for his kind heart. He will be missed and mourned by his father, mother, the people that loved him and his loving dog Hope
Shane is survived by His Uncle, Louis Murray cousins, Brian, Tim, Elliott, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Sandy. He was preceded in death by his older sister Shivaun.
Please make a donation in Shane’s name to Care Animal rescue where Shane got his beloved dog, Hope. So many hearts are broken and Shane will never be forgotten. Love you forever.
