White Elephant Aspen will open February 2026

White Elephant, Aspen’s newest hotel that was originally slated for a late fall opening, will be opening its doors February 2026.

Reservations, which officially opened Oct. 21, are available to book from Feb. 3. Justin Todd, managing director of White Elephant Aspen, told The Aspen Times that early interest has been “very strong.”

“We’re encouraged by the enthusiasm from both our loyal guests — many of whom know us from our Nantucket and Palm Beach properties — and new clients who already share a deep connection to Aspen,” Todd said. “Our brand has always been recognized for delivering a high level of luxury and truly personalized service.”

White Elephant Aspen has a number of unique offerings, including a first-time collaboration with Anderson Ranch Arts Center to be the only hotel in town to showcase the ranch’s artists, a partnership with BMW to provide complimentary vehicles, and a special doggy turndown service for canine guests. While the hotel is seeing a delay in its scheduled opening, Todd noted the extended timeline allows the hotel to not compromise on any element of the process.

“From the outset, the development has been guided by a commitment to thoughtful design, responsible construction practices, and full alignment with Aspen’s guidelines,” he said. “The team has worked closely with the city and local partners at every stage, and the extended timeline allows this collaborative process to continue without compromise.”

He noted the pushback for opening also provides the opportunity for teams to be fully trained for when doors open during peak season.

And despite the delay, he confirmed construction is heading in the right direction for both the hotel and the restaurant.

“We’re working closely with city officials and continuing to receive permitting approvals as we complete the various sections of the property,” Todd said. “Everything is moving forward in alignment with our timeline toward a February 2026 debut.”
