What a season
Dear Editor:
The first ever Snowmass Village Coed Softball season concluded on Saturday with a double elimination tournament. The teams and their players were there at 8 a.m. “hydrating” early in readiness for the long day. There were some great hits, catches and many war wounds from the players’ diving stops. The wRec’d team nudged out a win in the championship game with a come from behind eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Thank you to all the teams involved: Silvertree, wRec’d (Recreation Department) and the two town teams ” the Village Idiots and Town Pillagers ” for such a memorable and fun season. Thank you to Stacey Forrester and Tasters Pizza for sponsoring the trophy and after party. A huge thank you to our umpires Jeremy Young, Patrick Faurer and Jim Pilcher for their umpiring services and Pam Mulleavy, Patrick Clark and the parks crew for their great field prep all season. Cheers everyone and see you on Jan. 4 (yep, in the snow) for the first softball games in Colorado ” hopefully our wounds will heal by then.
