U.S. not nursemaid to Mexico’s poor
Dear Editor,Roger Marolt has now revealed his outlook on illegal immigration (from our immediate south) and it appears to get his stamp of approval. He feels that the illegals contribute positively to our economy and cites a moral obligation to look out for and help those less fortunate than us. Emzy Veazy observes carefully from the sidelines and may enter the fray at any moment.Myself, I’m anti-illegal immigration and I’ll put quality of life over the state of the economy any day. Unless positive and decisive action is taken – as opposed to the Band-Aid measures now in place – the fallout from this illegal invasion will devastate this once-great country. Roger evidently does not realize this, since he appears to be overwhelmed with piety and unconditional tolerance. I reckon he is bogged down in his own religious dogma (are you by chance a “Mackrel-Snapper,” Roger?) and cares more about the poor Mexicans than his fellow American citizens. It plain won’t work for the United States to play nursemaid to Mexico’s poor people at the expense of our own quality of life and cultural integrity. These illegals come from a failed and dysfunctional cultural structure that refuses to make the necessary corrective adjustments. If allowed, they will do the same thing all over again here. Think overpopulation, the man in the beanie, and nose candy galore. There you are, Roger, old son. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Can you prove me wrong or do you feel the rug sliding out from under you?Pete LuhnAspen
