Highway 82 fully reopened after accident

Update: The traffic accident at the Basalt light has been cleared and all lanes of Colorado Highway 82 are open as of 11:40 a.m.

A traffic accident has caused the right lane of Colorado Highway 82 eastbound to close at the Basalt Light as of 8:38 a.m.

Drivers are asked to consider alternate routes of travel to avoid this area, according to a Pitkin Alert. Those staying on Highway 82 must reduce speed in this area and give responders currently on the scene space.
