Time running out on ranch
Dear Editor:
Thank you to those who responded with letters and donations to help resolve the Living Arts Foundation court-forced wilderness land sale. Because of you we were able to extend the catch-up amount until the proposed sale date of Oct. 5. That means the whole mortgage is not due, yet we still need $29,000 by then (includes all fees).
These 35 acres of wilderness have become lusher, with more wildlife sightings since our 12 years of stewardship. The LAF has already raised more than $200,000 to pay for it. This land also holds our equity gathered over the past 24 years in the Roaring Fork Valley. Please help stabilize this nonprofit and get us back to our environmental education work as soon as possible.
We’ve been doing this since our 1988 holiday play about pollution (at the Community School.) We also took part in creating the Recycling Center and the Art Park – where the theatre tent is (it used to be the car impound lot.) Thanks again – for these weeks have been more nerve-wracking than the past 20 years.
What we’d really love is contributions to pay off the entire indebtedness and start an endowment fund to cover taxes and programs in future years. Please continue to call us at 925-7018.
