Theodore Armisted Reeds

Theodore Armisted Reeds, 88, died Oct. 1, 2009 at his home of Alzheimer’s disease. A private memorial will be held Oct. 11 on Coulter Creek Mountain.
Ted was born March 5, 1921 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he also attended Oberlin College and Yale University of Architecture before serving in the Marine Corps as a carrier based fighter pilot during World War II.
He moved his family to Aspen/Snowmass in 1967, where he designed and built homes. He loved the mountains near Aspen. The family has a home near Carbondale where his children vacation with their children.
Ted is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sally, now living in Denver; daughters Sara DeVilliers, of Houston, Wendy of Los Angeles and Allison of Denver; and sons Ted A. Reeds Jr. of Tulsa, Mark of Adair of Oklahoma and Arthur “Thor” of Carbondale. All of the children grew up attending the Aspen public schools.
He is also survived by son-in-law Isaac DeVilliers, daughters-in-law Lindsay, Jeanne and Jon Nell Reeds, and six grandchildren.
