The time is now

Dear Editor:

We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. The water is clean, the air is breathable, and there are vibrant, open spaces around us that support healthy ecosystems for all plants, animals and humans to enjoy.

We are also very fortunate to live in a community where people come together and stand up for what is important for us and our way of living and sustaining it for generations to come. Now more than ever, we must unite and let our voices be heard in order to maintain the vital environment we live in by protecting Thompson Divide from oil and gas Drilling.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday at Carbondale Town Hall, the Pitkin Board of County Commissioners will be holding a public meeting to discuss oil and gas issues in the Thompson Divide area. I hope to see everyone there, especially some young folks. The time is now to unite and stand up for justice.
