After what felt like the first real winter weather of 2026, Snowmass has picked up 12 inches of snow in the past 24 hours, the most snowfall of any ski resort in Colorado from this storm cycle.
“The Snowmass community and our guests were so excited to receive 12 inches overnight,” said Sara Stookey Sanchez, public relations manager for Snowmass Tourism. “The mountain is skiing great and we couldn’t be happier. Much needed, indeed. We are forever grateful to mountain ops for managing everything so well.”
The 24-hour snowfall totals include 7 inches at Aspen Mountain, 9 inches at Aspen Highlands, and 6 inches at Buttermilk, as reported by Aspen Snowmass in a press release.
“The snow is a welcome help and will definitely improve conditions,” said Aspen Skiing Company Senior Manager of Brand Communications Janelle Sohner in an email. “Our mountain teams are assessing and opening terrain as it comes into shape, with safety guiding decisions.”
OpenSnow showed 24-hour snow totals to also include 9 inches at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, 8 inches at Loveland Ski Area, 7 inches at Copper Mountain and Crested Butte, 6 inches at Keystone Resort, Steamboat Resort, Vail Mountain, and Winter Park, 5 inches at Beaver Creek, Breckenridge Ski Resort, and Eldora, 3 inches at Granby Ranch, and 2 inches at Sunlight.
