The Snowmass Plein Air Art Festival is slated for its fourth year next month, featuring the work of 20 Colorado artists who have been hosted in Snowmass for several days, making art for the upcoming sale.

The Plein Air art sale is an opportunity for artists to make a 70% commission on their art sales, which is 20% higher than artists typically make selling their art through a vendor, according to Diane Oshin, a member of the Snowmass Arts Advisory Board. Of the remaining 30%, 10% goes to the Art Advisory Board to help with the following year’s event, and 20% goes to the Roaring Fork Conservancy, a local nonprofit.

The artists will be selling their art on the Snowmass Base Village Events Lawn from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet with the artists as they visit the booths.

Artists will also be painting in and around Snowmass Village Aug. 4-8.

According to Oshin, the art primarily focuses on the natural vistas of the Roaring Fork Valley.
