“Snowmass begins work on pavilion” proclaimed The Aspen Times on May 3, 1973. “Groundbreaking for a 1,200-seat covered outdoor pavilion took place at Snowmass Resort last week. The pavilion will be available for concerts, displays, conventions, meeting and groups, according to Resort officials. It will be ready for use by the first of June for the Colorado Fireman’s Association convention which will draw approximately 1,000 participants.

The National District Attorneys association will be using the pavilion for their convention as will other organizations. Dave Brubeck, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, CARTH tennis tournament celebrities including Dionne Warwicke, the World’s Greatest Jazz Band and others are scheduled to use the new facility. Situated next to the Timbermill Inn, the pavilion is immediately adjacent to Snowmass Village Square and all services are available for parties and banquets. The pavilion can seat 1,000 for a sit-down dinner.”
