Robert A. Ziegler Sr.

Robert A. Ziegler Sr. of Rifle passed away Friday, March 7, at his home. He was 72.
He was born in Lowell, Fla., on May 3, 1935, to Albert William Ziegler and Bessie Mae Lindsey Ziegler. He married Marilyn L. Robinson on Dec. 23, 1953, in Martin, Fla. Robert was the supervisor of the maintenance shop for Aspen/Buttermilk/Highlands Mountains of the Aspen Skiing Co. until his retirement in 1999.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister who both died during infancy, and a brother, James Ziegler.
Robert is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Robert A. Ziegler II (Amy), of Ocala, Fla., and William L. Ziegler (Emily) of New Castle; daughter Sharon A. Ziegler Barnes (Charles) of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brothers Clarence “Buddy” Ziegler of Ocala, Fla., and Roger Ziegler of Athens, Ala.; sisters Bernell Ketchum and Doris Brown of Ocala, Fla.; two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 13, at 1 p.m., at the Farnum Holt Chapel in Glenwood Springs.
