The Aspen Cycling Club season wrapped up last Wednesday, Aug. 27, with its annual awards banquet, hosted by Limelight Hotel.

The 2025 ACC season saw 21 races and events — including road races, mountain bike races, and skills clinics — drawing more than 950 total race starts across the season with an average of 45 participants per event, according to a news release.

The club saw 754 active members, alongside 120 guest accounts, and welcomed 68 youth athletes, including 55 high schoolers and 13 middle schoolers.

“The Aspen Cycling Club extends heartfelt thanks to its members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners for making 2025 one to remember,” ACC Managing Director Kristen Heath said in the release. “Here’s to another year of great riding, camaraderie, and community on two wheels.”

Beyond racing, 73 volunteers donated time to keep the season running smoothly, and 46 members participated in trail stewardship projects, including the club’s dedicated Trails Day.

Youth scholarship winners

In a continued effort to support youth in the sport, ACC awarded $500 scholarships to six student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in character, commitment, community, and sportsmanship. These athletes have balanced school, training, and travel while building a strong presence in the regional racing community.

The recipients include: Tristan Abrahams (freshman, Aspen High School); Markus Dewire (senior, Fort Lewis College); Ethan Kushto (senior, Glenwood Springs High School); Hazel Lazar (senior, Colorado Rocky Mountain School); Dru Loeffler (junior, GSHS); and Henry Ogburn (sophomore, Basalt High School).
