RESULTS: 19th annual Summit for Life uphill race on Aspen Mountain

Racers take off from the start of the 19th annual Summit for Life uphill race on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from the base of Aspen Mountain. The event is a major fundraiser for the Aspen-based not-for-profit Chris Klug Foundation, which raises money and awareness for organ and tissue donation.

The 19th annual Summit for Life uphill race took place Saturday evening on Aspen Mountain. The event is a major fundraiser for the Aspen-based not-for-profit Chris Klug Foundation, named for local Olympian Chris Klug. The foundation raises money and awareness for organ and tissue donation — Klug is an organ transplant survivor — with Summit for Life raising around $100,000 for the cause.

Below are results (limited here to only top 20 per gender) from the race, which began at the base of Aspen Mountain and ended at the top. There was a post-race party at the Sundeck.

John Gaston and Kristin Layne, both established local racers, took the men’s and women’s wins, respectively. Complete results can be found through CJ Sports Timing.
