Promotion lets kids fly free to Aspen
Aspen, CO, Colorado
ASPEN – Kids can fly free to Aspen.
The latest expansion of a travel promotion offered by Aspen Skiing Co. gives kids, ages 2 through 12, free airfare on American Airlines per full adult fare. In addition, Colorado Mountain Express is offering free ground transfers for kids 12 and younger if visitors need to fly into Eagle instead of Aspen, according to Bill Tomcich, president of reservations agency Stay Aspen Snowmass.
He outlined the latest deals to the Aspen Chamber Resort Association board of directors on Tuesday.
The resort already offered a travel package that allowed kids, ages 7 through 12, to ski, stay and eat for free in March and April with the purchase of lodging and lift tickets for accompanying adults. A free group lesson and free dining at certain on-mountain restaurants have been added to the mix.
The free airfare on American is available on midweek dates through March 31, but the tickets must be purchased by Feb. 17 and there are blackout dates on Feb. 16 through 21 and March 9 through 19. American Eagle began serving the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport this winter.
In addition, Tomcich said, Aspen Skiing Co. has extended its Perfect Storm promotion, which originally was to be booked by Jan. 27 but is now available until Feb. 6. The Perfect Storm package features deals on lift tickets, lodging and equipment rental, plus other discounts.
