Luxury western boots brand Partlow is hosting a private pop-up Aug. 6-12 on Aspen’s Main Street, welcoming customers into the home of the women-owned business for a shopping experience the brand has never offered before.

Sisters and co-founders of the brand Kasey Lemkin and Lawren Sample will be opening up the doors to their home for both new and returning customers to shop their collection and understand what’s actually behind the label.

“We’re inviting them into our home to experience the brand like we’ve never done before,” Lemkin said. “We want people to feel like they know us, feel like they’re coming into our home, feel like they’re a part of Partlow.”

Partlow was born out of a desire to reimagine the cowboy boot in a way that offered more versatility and elevated luxury for the style — with the ability to wear a pair all day long, transition them from day to night and sit them next to designer brand pieces without looking out of place. While Sample has spent 20 years as a celebrity stylist in Los Angeles, Lemkin spent two decades building merchandising for luxury brands in New York, both now coming together to design this new era of boots.

Lemkin noted that Sample typically finds inspiration in more vintage aesthetics and pieces, while she likes to design from a more contemporary, need-basis.

“I’m more of a person who looks in my closet and I say, what am I missing?” Lemkin said. “What would I want if I could wear any type of boot?”

Together, they blend eclectic style with classic modern design, handcrafted in Italy and under the moniker of their grandmother — whose maiden name was Partlow.

“She was the matriarch of the family,” Lemkin said, adding that, in her small town of Plantersville, Miss., her grandmother was the first woman to wear pants.

She also had a beauty salon in the backyard and supposedly did Elvis’ mother’s hair.

“She was an absolute force — and the spirit behind everything we do,” the brand’s website states.

Lemkin told The Aspen Times that, when she and her sister came up with the brand, they wanted something rooted in family, especially the women in their family since they were a sister duo, women-owned business.

“She’s a strong, independent woman,” Lemkin said of their grandmother, “and that’s who we want wearing our boots.”

And that’s what the private pop-up is about — not just embodying the boots, but building a community.

“It’s a feeling,” Lemkin said. “We’re inviting you into our home to experience Partlow. There will be the collection there, but it’s about bringing community together, bringing people in. We really want it to be a special space where people can come get to know us and hang out … understanding Partlow through Lawren’s and my vision.”

Those interested in the immersive shopping experience can stop by the one-week destination to browse and talk with Lemkin and Sample — text 917-625-7660 for details on visiting Aspen’s newest elevated community space.

“I think that the Aspen customer really is our customer,” Lemkin added. “Aspen is all about quiet luxury … It just fits so well with Partlow.”
