Leadville Ski Joring to host 77th annual event

The 77th installment of the historic Leadville Ski Joring event returns March 1-2. This competition features trained horses and riders pulling skiers through a course adorned with gates, jumps and rings on Harrison Avenue in Leadville, according to a news release.
The event is set to begin at noon on both days, with an auction set to take place beforehand at 9 a.m. Award ceremonies are slated to take place immediately following each day’s competition, the release states.
