Kronberg: Game of dodge ball, anyone?

Once again, the game of dodge ball is being played in Aspen, Snowmass Village and Pitkin County.

Dodge left. Dodge right.

Just don’t take the ball and run with it for a touchdown … seems to be the game plan for the elected officials when it comes to figuring out what-to-do with the always-forever, never-ending, crazy gridlock in front of the airport, the Lumberyard Housing Project, Buttermilk and the Entrance to Aspen.

We think it’s excruciating now, just wait.

No matter how many letters-to-the-editor or citizens asking the elected officials to work together as a team, the same promise is heard from the Elected Officials … “We want to work together but it is really tough for all of us to meet at the same time.”

I am not sure if I believe them anymore.

Why? This Thursday in Aspen City Hall at 4 p.m. all three governments are meeting in the same room for the Elected Officials Transportation Committee.

Purpose of the EOTC committee is to work on transportation. Guess what?

No discussion on the agenda for the elected officials “to work together as a team” to bring the ball over the goal line for a touchdown on the crazy but necessary traffic.

Once again, public comment is not on the agenda.

Imagine that?

The EOTC agenda can be found at https://aspen.gov/Calendar.aspx?EID=3096.
