Grammatical advice
Dear Editor:
I thought some of the valley realtors might need a clarification in the use of pinon and pinion:
Pinon: any of several species of pine trees. Also spelled pinyon.
Pinion: (n) a bird’s wing, outer rear edge of a bird’s wing; (v) to bind the feathers of a bird to prevent flight, to restrain or immobilize a person by binding the arms; (n) a small cogwheel that engages or is engaged by a larger cogwheel or rack.
