If you’ve been looking for an elevated artisan charcuterie board created and curated in the Roaring Fork Valley with local produce and delivery from Aspen to Glenwood, look no further.
Borde + Kurv offers handmade boards, along with baskets, spanning everything from brunch to charcuterie to dessert — with thoughtfully-sourced and mostly local produce evoking European flavor and tradition.
“My heritage is Norwegian,” Jen Kemp, founder of Borde + Kurv who has lived in the valley for 24 years, said. “Growing up, I had a grandmother that really inspired me with many things in my life, and she was 100% Norwegian. My fondest memories are with my family, and the European flavor and flare was always there. When I was thinking a lot about what I wanted to present with my business idea and what I wanted to bring to the valley, it was really important to bring that family gathering piece in.”
Borde + Kurv designs are aimed at bringing community together through shared experience. Kemp noticed there was a gap for this type of offering in the valley, and she said her love of food and eye for visual details made the business come very naturally for her.
“Doing a board, it comes second nature to me,” she said. “I just knew that the valley needed something like this.”
Her husband makes the actual boards by hand, and those who order a board for delivery have the option of purchasing the handmade board or having Kemp pick it back up.
Her boards include local meats sourced right in Basalt and cheese from a distributor in Del Norte, Colo., along with honey sourced from Redstone, edible flowers from her own garden and more. She also offers a plethora of baskets, including a breakfast basket sourced from Rock Bottom Ranch, maple syrup from Crested Butte, Rock Canyon Coffee out of Basalt and Roaring Fork Mill in Carbondale, among many other items.

“The heart of Borde & Kurv is gathering local artisans and local food and gathering around a table to celebrate life, to have joyful moments and to embrace the community,” Kemp said. “I really believe in my product. It’s promoting local business and community and unity.”
So far, she said the response has been really positive.
“It’s a really unique and beautiful product that everyone is really drawn to and excited about,” she said.
Borde + Kurv boards serve up to six with a half board and about 12-15 with the full boards. People can also inquire about a grazing table for more people. Boards need 48-72 hours advance noticed, with 24-48 hours for baskets.

Kemp also offers a pet basket. All baskets are available to be shipped.
She said that she’s working on getting her liquor license to offer wine pairings with the boards for clients as well.
“I want to bring joy,” she said. “The taste, the visual, the warmth … I think the boards and baskets both bring joy to whoever you’re gathering with.”
