Filippone: Open letter to Rep. Jeff Hurd, CO-3

It is time for you to start to fulfill your oath to “protect and defend.”

Your “mandate” consisted of winning by less than 6,400 votes out of a little over 397K total votes cast (50.8%). I see from your weekly email that you are doing marvelous things for businesses in the CO-3, but I haven’t heard anything about helping Medicare, Medicaid, or SNAP recipients maintain their benefits.

What about what’s good for the working people? Haven’t heard you stand up against the unidentified “officers” snatching people off the streets to be beaten or sent to what are basically concentration camps. Didn’t hear you step up to protect our best source of local news and children’s programming when Mr. Trump passed his big rescission bill.

We still haven’t heard you stand up to regain the House’s responsibility to levy tariffs. And prices and now inflation are still going up.

Wasn’t that your main mandate?
