Dustin Burlingame Case passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at his home in Carbondale, Colorado after a very valiant battle with cancer. Dustin was born on Aug. 22, 1959 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and moved to the Aspen area with his family when he was 14. He spent many years based in South Florida where he was involved in underwater salvage in the Gulf and Caribbean. In 2006, he moved to Tulsa to be in business with his father. He returned to Colorado last March in the latter stages of his illness to be with family.

Dustin is survived by his father, Robert B. Case and Robert’s wife, Sharon, of Tulsa, Okla., his mother, Teddy Burlingame of Carbondale, brother and sister-in-law Robert B. Case Jr. and Lisa Case of Denver, sister Kristin E. Case and partner, John Guenther, of Old Snowmass; and nieces Katelyn E. Timroth and Emily M. Timroth of Old Snowmass and Chelsey D. Jeffers of Tulsa, Okla. Dustin also leaves behind the many friends he made along his journey.

Dusty was a member of The Church at Redstone. A memorial service is planned for Dustin at the Church at Redstone on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations to go to Home Care and Hospice of the Valley.

Dusty’s quest to see “what’s over the next hill,” his humor, kindness and devotion to family will be greatly missed.
