On Sunday, August 31, 2025 and Monday, September 1, 2025, hotshots and highly skilled medical personnel will travel by helicopter to the Hack Lake area on the west side of the Derby Fire. The helicopter transport saves them a grueling hike to the fireline. The hotshots will continue their work constructing fireline on the southwest side of the fire.
