Person ejected during roll-over crash on Interstate 70 between Copper Mountain, Frisco in Colorado, state patrolman says

5:15 p.m.: A one-vehicle, roll-over crash resulted in at least one person being ejected from their vehicle and sent two people to the hospital, according to Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Ivan Alvarado.

Alvarado said there is no estimated time for reopening the roadway.

4:50 p.m.: Summit County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mike Schilling said a crash has closed both directions of Interstate 70 near mile marker 198.



Traffic is building in the closure area, according cameras on CoTrip.org. The Colorado Department of Transportation stated that the closures are in effect between mile markers 189-200 for eastbound I-70 and mile markers 196-200 for westbound.

Schilling said officials are on scene from Colorado State Patrol, Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Summit Fire & EMS but stated that further information will be released by Colorado State Patrol, declining to answer questions about the crash.




Colorado State Patrol answered a request for information and stated an official would call back with more information.
