Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wayne Jones of Prosper, Texas, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cara Jean Carter, to Mr. William Matthew Holloway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rhoads Holloway of Franklin, Tenn., and formerly of Basalt.Cara is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horner Newton Shelton of Waco, Texas. She is a 2002 graduate of Vanguard College Preparatory School in Waco and will receive a bachelor of arts degree in speech communications from Baylor University in May 2006.Matthew is the grandson of Mr. John Tillman Trotter of Houston, Texas, and Drs. Lee and Joe Buice of Odessa, Texas. He graduated in 2002 from Alpine Christian Academy in Basalt and will receive an bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from Baylor, also in May 2006.The couple will marry Dec. 17, 2005, at George W. Truett Theological Seminary on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. The couple will honeymoon in Bora Bora.

Aspen rugby returns home after long absence, routs Vail on Wagner


Playing at home for the first time in nearly two years, the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club overcame an apparent lack of size compared to the Vail side en route to a 49-14 win on Saturday at Wagner Park in downtown Aspen. Prior to hosting Vail, the Gents hadn’t played at home since Ruggerfest in the fall of 2019.
