Candidate forum set Thursday in Aspen

ASPEN – Candidates for the Pitkin County commissioner seat in District 1 and for county sheriff are slated to face off Thursday, July 29, in a forum organized by local Democrats and Republicans.

Carolyne Heldman of Aspen Public Radio will moderate. The Aspen Chamber Resort Association is collecting questions from the public at and there will be a chance to submit written questions for the candidates to ACRA representatives about 15 minutes before the forum begins. The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Lauder Room of the Koch Building at the Aspen Institute.

The five candidates for the District 1 seat will be first up at the forum, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the four sheriff’s candidates from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.
