Bear cub dies in hit and run outside Aspen’s Hotel Jerome
The Aspen Police Department is attempting to identify the vehicle and driver

A bear cub was struck by a vehicle in front of Hotel Jerome on Monday at approximately 11 p.m. and was confirmed dead after the driver who hit it fled the scene.
The Aspen Police Department confirmed the cub’s death and that the vehicle did not stop after the collision to The Aspen Times. The cub was taken by the Aspen Police Department and given to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
“We are in the process of attempting to identify the vehicle and driver,” Aspen Police Sergeant Rick Magnuson said.
