Basalt-area police chase on Rio Grande trail ends safely

Update, 3:19 p.m.: According to a PitkinAlert, police activity on the Rio Grande trail has ended, with everyone safe and the trail back open.

Original post: Police vehicle chase is currently ongoing along the Rio Grande trail west of the Old Snowmass light, according to a PitkinAlert notification. Police request that citizens stay off the Rio Grande trail in the Basalt area.
