“Hagal, the king of the air, and American Blondin will give a high wire and trapeze performance at Hallam Lakes on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 2:30 p.m.,” the Aspen Daily Times announced on Aug. 11, 1888.
“The first and only opportunity to witness the greatest of novelties, the height of human daring. The most marvelous and daring feat ever attempted — a sight the most amazing ever looked upon by man. Refreshments on the grounds. Feeding the fish at 3 p.m. Boats for all. Admission 25c.”
